Geoff Robinson,
It is with deep regret that I have to inform the League of the death of Geoff Robinson.
Geoff was a lifetime member of Queensbury Con. Club and for the last 21 years was the Chairman of the League, taking over from Steve Fillingham in 1994/5. Also following Peter Lee’s retirement from the League in 2003, Geoff also was President. A role which he was subsequently re-elected at the 2015 AGM.
Margaret rang me this morning and informed me that Geoff’s funeral will take place on at Holy Trinity Parish Church on Thursday 6th August at 1.45pm, followed by cremation at Scholemoor.
May he rest in peace.
Dave Parrott

The Clayton Rugby Club team
CLAYTON Rugby Club claimed a unique team treble as they added Bradford billiards’ prestigious Moorhouse Shield to the South Bradford League team knockout and league title.
The victory was the club’s first in the Moorhouse since they won the Centenary final in 2008 and was third time lucky as opponents Great Horton Conservative Club had beaten them in the last two finals.
Captain Paul Ascough started well for Clayton with a break of 42, but Aussie McGann kept plugging away to keep in touch before a further break of 39 extended Ascough’s lead and ended with a 200-131 victory.

Hi Guys,
Well its almost the end of the season already, and the finals have been decided.
HERE is the update, with the finals and competing teams.
Please note I am away next week so won’t be able to attend the PLATE final at Fields. Craig Fenton will be stepping in and organising proceedings on the night, so good luck to both teams, and I will be back to organise the CUP final at Clayton Libs on the 28th.
Any problems please give me a shout, and if you haven’t already sent me the South Bradford registrations please do so as quick as you can
Thanks
Paul

Hi Guys,
Here with a Team Snooker update. We are now at the semi final stages of both the Cup and Plate Knockouts.
Also on the update I have posted the venues and dates for both finals. These have both to be confirmed 100%, but both parties can see no problems with staging these finals. If there are any changes I will let you know.
For all you hawkeyes out there I have noticed that I haven’t changed the “Week” number on the “fixtures for”. This should read “Week 8” but the date is correct…….
I am still owed monies for registration and weekly subs from Chapel Green, Clayton Libs and Great Horton Cricket but I have spoken to all concerned and these should be paid by this weekend.
Any problems please give me a shout.
Cheers
Paul

Great Horton Conservative Club players with the Moorhouse Shield team billiards trophy, from left: Aussie McGann, Terry Crawshaw, Brian Royston, Dave Western and Colin Brooksbank
A REMATCH of last year’s Moorhouse Shield final takes place on Thursday night as holders Great Horton Conservative Club take on Clayton Rugby Club in billiards’ showpiece event.
Clayton have enjoyed success in the South Bradford Billiards league over the last six years, winning the title five times and finishing runners-up in the other year, but Great Horton are looking for their third consecutive Moorhouse title in what should be an excellent encounter.
The match starts at 7.45pm at Chapel Green Liberal Club and spectators are welcome.
