Denny defeats Snooker Handicap champion to progress to round two

CULLINGWORTH Conservative player Richard Denny knocked out defending champion Joe Hollings (Eccleshill Victoria Cons) in the first round of the Bradford Snooker Handicap, and will now host Peter Hamilton (Undercliffe Cricket Club) in the second round.

Adam Tipper, who won the event in 2014, faces Undercliffe clubmate Damian Bentley.

Four-time Bradford champion Gareth Green, who won the handicap event in 2015, together with ten-time Bradford champion Wayne Cooper have not entered, once again leaving the competition wide open.
