Con League Ready to Kick Off for 2014/2015
The Bradford Conservative Games League is ready to kick off the new campaign. The first League matches will get under way on Tuesday 2nd September and will play for 36 weeks until Tuesday 5th May with a 2 week break, as usual, for Christmas.
Reigning Division 1 Champions Undercliffe A start the defence of their title with an away trip to Greengates, while the Division 2 Champions Northcote A are at home to Windhill A.
Welcome to the 3 new teams joining the League. Baildon Woodbottom have joined the League. Idle and Thackley have rejoined the League after a number of year’s absence and finally Owlet Hall are fielding a B team. Good Luck to all 3 teams and we hope you enjoy your time in the Con League
All the individual draws have been done and the reigning champions have been drawn as follows:
Bob Bell – Adam Tipper Undercliffe has an away trip for the first leg of his defence and will play Martin Johnson of Victoria
Stanley Peel – Paul Davey of Undercliffe has an away trip to Victoria.
Pairs Champions Richard Duffield and Dave Robson of Shipley Social take on the Thornton pairing of Newlands and Gould.
The Dawson Champions Undercliffe A have a repeat of last years final when they play Windhill A.
All relevant information regarding the fixtures, draws etc.will be handed out at the next delegates meeting at Owlet Hall next Thursday 21st August. Would all delegates please try to attend this meeting.
Finally after many years as Captain of Bradford Moor and the current Captain of Undercliffe A, Ken Appleyard as accepted the invitation to the position of Vice President of the League. With so many years experience as delegate, executive member and player in the League, Ken can only be an asset to the Executive Committee.
