The Snooker title has come down to be decided on the last round of matches of the season, with 3 teams still able to take the title. Clayton Rugby A and Clayton Libs A both sit level at the top , 4 points clear of Wibsey Libs A.
Clayton Libs A are at home to Clayton Rugby A next week and if there is a winner of that match then the winner takes the title. If the match finishes 4-4 and Wibsey A win 8-0 at home to Queensbury, then as per the rule introduced this season, the title will be decided on a countback between the 3 teams.
I have attached a list showing all the 3 results between the 3 teams over the season (with Clayton Libs and Clayton Rugby drawing 4-4 next week included).
So if the Clayton derby finishes 4-4 and Wibsey win 8-0, then applying the new rule would mean Wibsey take the title having the best overall record against the other 2 teams. Clayton Rugby A would finish second due to their record against Clayton Libs A.
If the Clayton derby finishes 4-4 and Wibsey fail to get 8 points then Clayton Rugby A will take the title as they have a better record against Clayton Libs A over the season.
I just thought I’d better make everything clear before the event so that everyone knows the outcome should the 3 team scenario occur.
