Bradford cue ace Brian Mullaney dies aged 73

FORMER Bradford snooker champion Brian Mullaney has died aged 73.

He won the title in 1986 and created history as his brother Tommy took the Bradford billiards that year – the first time that siblings had held the crowns at the same time.

Mullaney, who died in the Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford, also won the city’s billiards championship in 1994 and 2001.

This means that Colin is now the sole survivor of the 11 Mullaney siblings – five sons and six daughters, some of whom went to Australia as £10 Poms.

Brian’s funeral is at St Peter’s Church on Allerton Road tomorrow (10am), followed by a service at Scholemoor Crematorium at 11am, with a gathering afterwards at West Bradford Bowling Club on Duckworth Lane.

Contrasting fortunes for Bradford against Leeds No 2 in Yorkshire Inter-District Snooker League

Lewis Walsh 72 break was the highlight of a superb 5-1 victory over Leeds2

BRADFORD’S two snooker sides had mixed results against the same opposition in the Yorkshire Inter-District League.

The No 1 team had started the season slowly but enjoyed a 5-1 victory over Harrogate before Christmas and posted another 5-1 success at Leeds No 2 on Saturday. Continue reading

ENTRY FORM 2017 Yorkshire Snooker Championship

Hi All

Please find HERE the Entry Form for this season’s Yorkshire Snooker Championships, with a deadline for entries and payment of 31st January.

If you wish to enter, please advise which of the two qualifying dates you prefer, if you don’t mind which date please state so.

Payment should be made directly into the bank as per the bank details on the entry form, this being the preferred method of receiving the money. This MUST be paid into the bank before the draw is made. If you really need to pay by cash, again this MUST be paid before the deadline. We WILL NOT accept any player paying on the day.

If your entry and money isn’t in by the time the draw is made you WILL NOT be entered into that draw. There will be no exceptions.

If you know of players who wish to enter but have not received an entry form from me or your area delegate, then please ask them to perform the same task of supplying their details and entry fee.

Thanks for your cooperation guys and please make sure you don’t leave it until the last minute!!!
