Bradford Billiards team notch another fine win.

Stephen Kershaw

There was another good win for the Bradford Billiards team in the Yorkshire Inter District League with a 5-2 victory against Huddersfield No.2 at Great Horton Cricket Club.
Captain Stephen Kershaw started well, a break of 37 setting the platform to establish a commanding lead against Jez Ford, running out a 200-120 winner. John McEachran faced strong opposition from Julian Hodge, who made back to back breaks of 39 to lead 80 – 2. McEachran fought back with a 33 break, but the game didn’t quite last long enough for him ever to get on terms, and Hodge levelled the match with a 200 – 152 victory. The last game produced the best billiards of the night and it didn’t look good for Bradford, as Huddersfield captain John Ingleby took an early lead, with a break of 37, but Bradford’s Paul Devitt made breaks of 41, 39 and 36 for a 200 – 147 victory, seeing Bradford home to a 5 – 2 win.
