Richard Lodge & Mark Hirst

Mark Hirst got off to a flying start in the 2 hour final of the Bradford Billiards Championship at The Harold Club with breaks of 50 and 90 in the first half hour, Followed by further runs of 45 and 95 before the half time interval.

His opponent Richard Lodge, as well as getting little time at the table, found the balls running very unkindly on several occasions, It was only in the last 10 minutes of the session that he had the chance to get his score moving, but still trailed 104 to 334 at the interval.

Any hopes of a recovery were dashed by a further break of 84 from Mark Hirst soon after the resumption, followed by a 64 around the mid point.

The second session did however provide Richard with occasional opportunities to show his ability, particularly with a break of 52 towards the end.

the final score being 689 to 306 in Mark’s favor.
