BRADFORD No 2 came away from their Yorkshire Inter-District League match at Selby with a 3-3 draw, which was not only enough to secure the visitors promotion back to the top-flight but also give them the title.
The city second string team needed just one point to guarantee promotion, but two points would confirm them as champions, and this was achieved in the first match as a solid Peter Hamilton display gave him a 74-38, 70-30 victory against Harry Hall.
Boover Singh couldn’t get into his stride and went down 63-27 and 58-28 to J Barker, while captain Hanif Rafiq made a 59 clearance in winning 81-21, but opponent Darren Hawkins had the final say of a great season for Bradford with a 64-42 victory.
Bradford No 2, who are more than capable of challenging at the top end of the table, will be hoping for better fortune than the last time they were among the elite, and will be seeking a good early start.
