Hi Guys,
Following last night’s delegates meeting it was reported by Malcolm Storey that if Lilycroft B reached the Team Snooker Final, Russell Morgan would not be allowed to play in the final due to not being 18 years of age.
Respecting that Lilycroft should be allowed to field ALL registered players in the final wherever possible, it was voted unanimously to move the Team Snooker final, on Tuesday 21st April, to Great Horton Conservative Club. This will not reflect in any way on any future finals or events that will be held at Clayton Conservative Club, as we as a league respect individual club rules.
I did receive a phone call later on last night from Malcolm Storey, advising me that it had been decided at the clubs latest committee meeting to lift the under 18 snooker ban, but realising the discussion and vote that had been taken at the meeting by all delegates, this change of venue will stand.
I hope that the decision made by Clayton Conservative Club to lift the ban is a decision that will stand moving forward, and will therefore allow all our young players to compete in our league at all our member clubs. We will obviously confirm this over the next few weeks.
The draw for the Semi Finals of the Team Snooker was made as follows:
Clayton Libs A versus Fields
Lilycroft B versus Queensbury.
Ties to be played Tuesday 7th and 14th April.
Please remember to try and encourage people to our finals nights over the next few weeks, and also for your clubs to enter at least 1 team into our Summer Team Snooker Competiton.
Any questions anyone may have please give me a call, and hopefully see some of you at a finals night over the next couple of weeks.
Thanks
Paul
